Japan's Southern Islands With Diamond Princess | Day 7 & 8: Sea Day

We are now on the homebound leg of our trip, but Diamond Princess still has so much more to offer!

After leaving Keelung, we are now on the homebound leg of our 8-day voyage. With around 1,100 nautical miles to cover, we will arrive in Yokohama after two days at sea.

In the meantime, the Diamond Princess has plenty to offer, with many facilities to use, and activities to participate in.

Souvenir & Mementos For Sale (Grand Piazza)

Our vacation is coming to an end, and what better way to remember it by taking home some souvenirs? In Japan (and many Asian countries), it is a practice to get gifts and souvenirs for friends and family whilst travelling. As such, the ship organised a souvenir sale at the Grand Piazza, for guests who’d like to pick up a few extra mementos.

Princess Cruises’ signature teddy bear, Stanley, was also available!

At the same time, snap a photo with the couple bears and the master of Diamond Princess!

Photo Gallery

The Photo Gallery was also open for guests to purchase their vacation photos.

Towel-Folding Demonstration

Ever wondered how the crew makes all the cute towel animals you see in your stateroom? The Entertainment Team has organised a Towel-Folding Demonstration for guests to learn how to re-create the iconic towel animals!

Culinary Demonstration & Galley Tour

We also went for the Culinary Demonstration & Galley Tour, which took us on a behind-the-scenes look at how the Diamond Princess’ culinary team puts together the meals for more than 3,000 guests daily!

Guests were allowed access to the Galley (the ship’s kitchen), where the meals are prepared fresh daily.

And we also got to see the various fruit and vegetable carvings that decorate the buffet lines!

And Many More…

On the pool deck, there was also Pool Golfing.

Jigsaw Puzzles.

Dinner

Evening Entertainment

Plenty of parties, both on deck and in the ship’s various clubs!

Farewell Party

The Entertainment Team also held one last party, wishing everyone farewell and safe onward travels before we get off the ship tomorrow.

And after this sunset, we would be back in Yokohama.

One Final Thank You

Thank you for reading till the end! As we end off another great cruise, Singapore Cruise Society would like to extend a sincere thanks to all Officers and Crew of the Diamond Princess, for providing us and all guests with a fantastic cruise experience. It feels great to be back aboard a ship we have been with previously, and we are even happier to see how the ship has bounced back after the Pandemic.

Till we meet again, and till our next adventure! Cheers!
