Dream Cruises to require guests on Singapore Departures to be fully vaccinated from November 2021

UPDATE (FEBRUARY 2023): With the lowering of Singapore’s Disease Outbreak Response System Condition (DORSCON) to GREEN LEVEL as of February 2023, the preventive measures and/or testing requirements mentioned within this article are no longer in effect. Guests are advised to enquire with the respective cruise lines for updated Testing, Vaccination Requirements and Preventive Measures.

With the cruise lines requiring vaccinations to sail out on one of their ships, could this be a sign of measures lifting in due time?

SINGAPORE: Dream Cruises shared in a press release on their website today that guests above 12 years of age sailing on World Dream with departures from 21 November 2021 onwards will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. The cruise line will accept vaccines under the WHO Emergency Use Listing (EUL). Additionally, the cruise line has also shared that all crew members currently onboard have already been fully vaccinated in accordance with prevailing national guidelines.

This measure will exclude guests aged 12 years and below currently ineligible for inoculation, but all guests will still have to undergo the mandatory pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test (ART) administered at the cruise terminal.

This change came after the Singapore Government announced its ‘Vaccination Differentiated Safe Management Measures’, with fellow cruise line Royal Caribbean making changes to its vaccinations and testing policies for Singapore sailings earlier this month.

Dream Cruises has also laid out options for guests affected who may be unvaccinated, or is unable to get vaccinated in time for their original sailings:

  • Affected guests who are unvaccinated / not fully vaccinated may choose and transfer to another cruise date on World Dream from 1 - 19 November 2021.

  • Alternatively, a Future Cruise Credit option of the full amount (including Paid Cabin Fare + Paid Port Charges, as applicable) is also available to be redeemed for any World Dream sailings between 21 November 2021 – 30 March 2022, provided the guests are fully vaccinated and received the full regimen of COVID-19 vaccines* at least 14 days before the cruising date.

  • Please contact your original travel office or agency by 15 November 2021 for available options.

  • All new cruise bookings are subject to cabin availability and prevailing rates.

  • Affected guests will be required to top up the difference for new bookings made with a longer cruise itinerary or with a higher fare / port charge. If the new cruise fare / port charge is lower, the difference will be refunded via onboard credits.

  • Please note for affected Genting Rewards members who are sailing using Genting Points or cabin promotions, please contact our Genting Rewards members’ customer service hotline.
