Genting Cruise Lines announced that they will be resuming operations in Malaysia with the Star Pisces from their Star Cruises brand - operating short, 2-nights ‘Langkawi Escape’ and 1-night ‘Straits of Malacca’ cruises. The ship will be homeported out of Penang’s Swettenham Cruise Terminal.

With the first sailing scheduled in 3 weeks on December 22nd 2021, the ship will operate with a reduced capacity of 850 guests (at 50%), excluding the ship’s 400 crew and will adopt enhanced preventive control measures onboard.

All guests must test negative for COVID-19 via the mandatory pre-embarkation Antigen Rapid Test (ART) conducted by the terminal on day of departure.

These cruises will be open to all Malaysian Residents, foreigners with valid visit passes as well as tourists that had completed and passed the quarantine requirements by the local authorities. Singapore Cruise Society has reached out to Genting Cruises Lines to verify that guests travelling under the Singapore-Malaysia Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme will be able to sail on these cruises.

Currently with the prevailing regulations, visitors can only use the VTL-Air scheme to gain quarantine-free access into Malaysia - with daily flights from Singapore-Changi into Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Plans to open up the land causeway to all visitors is scheduled for Mid-December.

Reservations for Star Pisces Penang sailings open in Mid-December.
