14 NIGHT SINGAPORE TO SYDNEY CRUISE | OVATION OF THE SEAS | 5,602 VIEWS

TRIP REVIEW

CRUISE SUMMARY: AN ADVENTURE, OR A GI OUTBREAK?

On the 23rd of November 2017, we embarked on Royal Caribbean’s thousand foot smart-ship, the Ovation of the Seas, embarking on a half-month voyage departing from Singapore to Sydney, Australia. The cruise brought us to the small and quiet town of Fremantle, Perth, the capital city of the state of South Australia, Adelaide and lastly the Tasmanian city of Hobart before sailing into the iconic city of Sydney, New South Wales.

However, the highlight of the cruise wasn’t the modern landscape of Sydney or the Devils of Tasmania. Connecting Singapore and Australia were nine full sea-days filled with thrilling and spine-tingling activities ranging from bumper cars to skydiving simulators. We barely managed to keep our backs intact after trying out all of Royal Caribbean’s groundbreaking ways to keep us entertained throughout the entirety of the 14-nights cruise.

RIPCORD BY iFly

DECK 15 AFT

THE WILD OUTDOORS

Ripcord by iFly Rating: 8/10

The Ripcord by iFly is a skydiving simulator that enables you to feel the sensation of free falling from 10,000ft in the sky. The simulator itself is a glass cylinder with a high power turbine underneath it, providing an authentic skydiving experience, the complementary flight time of one minute dampen your s./. In most cases, just when you get the hang of it, the one-minute timer is up and it can be very annoying.

Overall the Ripcord by iFly is an enthralling and captivating experience that elevates the cruising experience to a new level, however as it is a Quantum-class exclusive, do expect long queues and short “ride-times”. Do remember to be considerate and do not cut queues!
